Painful Side of Leadership

I just finished the following book by Jeff Iorg. The Painful Side of Leadership: Moving forward even when it hurts.  It was a GREAT book, really easy to read and yet it was very practical.  It was oriented for pastors, but many of his points and principles apply to life in general.  The biggest encouragement/lesson was the fact that many of life’s most painful moments have to do with expectations. We are usually hurt, bothered or frustrated because we expected things to go differently than they did.  We expected a person to act differently than they did.  Iorg did a really good job encouraging how to set realistic and biblical expectations and then asking God to accomplish HIS work through us (i.e. Prayer).  I would really encourage anyone who is beginning or thinking about beginning ministry leadership to read this book.  I wish I had read it 3 years ago before I started pastoring, but I’m very grateful for Iorg’s wisdom in my life now.
